Hi everyone. Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. I've been concentrating on paid artwork and my webcomic.

Hope you like these new oil pastels I put up. Oil pastel is a great medium if you like vivid colours and prefer not to spend a lot of time setting up before drawing.

Webcomic: Tales of the Dystopic Gothic.

Another little oil pastel piece I did today, working with colour complements.

I started working from a photo, but changed it a little. (Real-life Havana cats have green eyes and no white markings.) But any excuse for a cute cat picture ;)

Here's the last of my abstract oil pastel experiments.

I start with Faber Castell watercolour pencil on oil sketch paper, and sketch a few shapes using colour complements or some variation. I spray a little water to make them blend and bring out the colours, and when it's dry, oil pastels over the top.

Pls comment, I can take it ;)

This one is oil pastel over watercolour pencil. The ones I use (Faber-Castell) mix with oil pastels when you blend them dry. I use oil sketch pad paper.

I've decided to update regularly and try entering some competitions. I'm starting with Illustration Friday, "a weekly drawing challenge" where you get to meet other illustrators online.

This week's theme is "Power", so I came up with an image of John Lennon doing his take on the infamous "I Want You" recruitment poster. Sgt Pepper replacing Lord Kitchener.

(edit:) I made this image to highlight a contradiction. John Lennon is almost an authority figure now, in a way, because he's such an icon. Which is not what he'd want...

I found you! You're the one who did the Kirsty cenobite image from the old Hellraiser forums! We had the conversation, about a Kirtsy cenobite fanfic. I wrote it! It is almost nothing like the ideas we discussed, but I wrote it!

Thanks very much! I went to a life drawing class, and I try to draw something each day. I also want to earn a living at art one day. :)

Thanks for the deviantwatch.
